How To Replace a Float and Float Rod
If your toilet is running all the time, stop flushing money down the drain. It may be as simple as your float rod and float needing replacing. And you can make it as good as new in about 10 minutes. Now that’s a good use of your time.
Step
1
Turn off the water supply to the Toilet. Unscrew the Float Rod from the top of the Fill Valve. Discard the old Float Rod and Float.
Step
2
Screw the threaded end of the new Float Rod into the Fill Valve.
Step
3
Attach the new Float to the Float Rod by screwing onto the loose end.
Step
4
Turn the water supply to the toilet back on. Check the water lever against the water level mark on the inside Rear Tank Wall. Adjust to the proper level by adjusting the water level Screw on the top of the Fill Valve. If no adjusting Screw is present, bend the Float Arm.
